Vitamin B-1 is a member of the B-Vitamin family that is naturally found in cereal grains, beans, nuts, eggs, and meats. Thiamin is involved in numerous body functions, including nervous system and muscle functioning, the flow of electrolytes in and out of nerve and muscle cells, carbohydrate metabolism, and the production of hydrochloric acid, which is necessary for proper digestion.
Now Foods Vitamin B-1, also known as Thiamine, is an essential nutrient first classified in 1936 by the chemist Robert Williams. As a coenzyme, thiamine helps your body metabolize carbohydrates and lipids and in a noncoenzymatic capacity plays a role in nerve tissue. Every cell of the body requires vitamin B1 to form the fuel the body runs on-adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
