Also known as vitamin B5, the name pantothenic comes from the Greek word \"panthos\" which means everywhere. Some refer to pantothenic acid as the \"anti-stress\" vitamin because the body uses it to produce cortisone and other adrenal hormones that are used up by the adrenal glands during periods of physical or emotional stress.
